Havanese Puppies - 5 weeks old

Since 5 weeks has passed I thought I'd post a few pictures. They are getting fluffy and FUN!

I started out trying to take pictures while they were playing and running around, but ALOT of those pictures turned out much like this one: (Casper started yawning as soon as I started to take the picture, so imagine trying to get pictures while they are romping around?)

Everytime the perfect picture opportunity presented itself, they would move or jump. Oh they are so much fun! (just have to say it again)~

Havanese Puppies for Sale - FYI

I have had many people contact me about our Havanese puppies for sale and think they can just send me money and get a puppy or have a puppy shipped to them. Folks, this is not how it works with us nor how it will work with any responsible breeder. Any breeder that cares about their puppies and breed for the love of Havanese will ask many, many questions. We care about the homes & environment that our fur-babies will be living in for the rest of their lives. We want them to have loving parents that will love them just as we do and willing to stay in contact with us.

If you contact me about one of our fur-babies, I will also ask you to fill out a 'puppy questionnaire' and then we will proceed from there.

There has been many days sitting with our Luna waiting for the puppies to be born. Feeling the babies kick inside our little momma's tummy. The 8+ hours of birthing. The many hours of sleeping on the couch in the living room by the puppies for the first week. The many hours spent making sure each little one is getting enough to eat. Alot of love and time has gone into our fur-babies and we only want the best for them.

Havanese Dog House Re-Design

Here is a picture of our new Havanese house re-design. We didn't take into account that Luna jumps into it from the corner, but live and learn. We aren't going to re-do it since it is a temporary set-up and we are in the process of weaning everyone now.

As you can see, the paper has been 'used'. Woohoo! I am so proud of my little angels!

Tonight I am going to replace the paper with 'puppy wee pads' though. That way they will be used to it in case their new family wants to use them and they will know it's not a toy to rip up.

They are also starting to cut teeth. Ouch!

If anyone wants information on how to build your own designer dog house, you can email me at selfcreativity@aol.com. Put 'Havanese' in the subject like so that I won't mistake it for spam.

Havanese Puppies - 4 Week Update

Four weeks have passed since our Havanese puppies were born. My how time flies when you are having fun!

After building the new puppy house, we are going to have to do a little changing and re-designing. I realized that with our current design, that the puppies were walking back and forth over the potty area. So what we really needed was the bed area and potty area to be in two different corners with space in between..

We are going to make the adjustments this weekend and I'll post pictures of the the new lay-out when we are finished.

Here's new 4 week pictures:

Toxic Plants

As puppies start exploring the 'bigger world', we all know they like to bite and chew on just about everything they come in contact with, including plants, bark, wood chips, grass, flowers, etc.

If you have just gotten a new puppy or planning on getting one, please take the time to inventory your indoor and outdoor plant environment and take the necessary measures to keep your puppy safe.

The ASPCA has a list of toxic plants that have been reported as having systemic effects on animals and/or intense effects on the gastrointestinal tract.
